The Plough Inn on the High Street is kindly hosting a Barbeque and music event in aid of the Besom in Witney. With many live bands on from 3pm and a classic disco from 9.30pm onwards this should be good fun! Everyone is welcome on Sunday 29th August from 3pm. Adventure Plus will once again be running our Total Adventure Holidays this summer - the week of 15-20 August is our residential adventure holiday for Older teens at Quinta, Shropshire. At time of writing we are praying for the right person to lead our worship band. Other band members, a minibus driver and one or two more dorm leaders would also really support our team. For more information go to www.communitymission.org.uk/events Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust Ride or Stride 11 September 2010 We are looking for volunteers to do either a sponsored cycle ride or stride around Oxfordshire churches. This is an ideal event for families. For those who take part it is an opportunity to visit some interesting churches knowing that they will be open and it is an enjoyable event. Of the monies we raise from this event, 50% will go towards repairing our church and 50% to the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust who give out grants for repairs and refurbishment - our Church will probably need their support again in the future. I have prepared a number of suggested routes, available free by email only from david.eaton28@btopenworld.com. In the past some members have gone striding around the Oxford churches and for a suggested route around Oxford churches, please email Valerie Hill on valerie.hill@tesco.net. We will also need volunteers on the day to be welcomers at the Church to greet Riders and Striders, they to can be sponsored - Gill Curwood will be organising this.
