ANNUAL REPORT ON DEANERY SYNOD for year 2009

The Synod met in May and October 2009, the January 2010 meeting was
cancelled.

Elections for Diocesan Synod were held and appointments made.

A Deanery Plan has been introduced to utilise staff and share resources.

Rev. Andrew Sweeney gave a short talk, titled `Sustaining the Sacred Space', on
Bishop John's strategy paper for the next 5 years.
The starting point is the individual and Andrew encouraged us to think about the
Prodigal Son. His theme and messages were:
   · Remember
   · Realignment -- moving closer to Jesus Christ. Do we pray every day?
   · Repentance -- accepting forgiveness.
   · Re-engage -- how do we effect change?
